Freedom!
So I quit my temp job today. Turns out a ten hour warehouse job just wasn't for me. My aching feet made the decision for me. It's cool. I already have a new job lined up. So while I wait for my feet to stop screaming with pain, I'd thought I'd share my list of places I'd love to visit one day.
1.Disneyland. Told ya I love all things Disney. I just think it would be awesome to see the actual park where Walt Disney worked and played. Where his fingerprints might still be on the surfaces. I mean I know Disney likes to keep things clean, but there's got to be someplace they missed right?
2. Hawaii. Especially the Disney Aulani resort. Although after watching Hawaii Life on HGTV, I find myself even entertaining thoughts of moving to the islands and finding love with a hunky Polynesian Dwayne Johnson look alike. It's totally doable. Turns out there are afforable homes and condos there. Of course the people they show on the show Hawaii Life are active outdoor types who are into biking up volcanos and scuba diving. I'm more of a beach bum who would want just as short of a walk to the local shops and boutiques as a walk to the beach. That's the episode I want to see.
3.Ireland. I must have Irish roots. Somewhere in my DNA. Because I've been drawn to Irish culture and legends since I saw my first leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day. Although that doesn't explain why my parents have no interest in Ireland whatsoever. They want to see England and Scotland. Which would be fine with me. I wouldn't mind traveling to England and Scotland. But it's not on my must travel list.
4. Paris. France. Not Kentucky. Not Texas. Hello! It's the fashion captial of the world. Why would I not go pay my respects? And the local boutiques for fine designer duds at a discount? A girl can dream.
5. Monte Carlo. Ever since I saw Samantha Brown go there on TV I've dreamed of going there. I mean where else in the world can you pretend to be fabulously wealthy? I mean I'm pretty fabulous already so I'm halfway there. Or maybe I'm thinking of that Selena Gomez movie? Which also motivated me to go the Monte Carlo.
6. Alaska. This wasn't orginally on my list but after hearing my parents talk about a Alaska cruise, I want to see those glaciers! From the comfort and safety of a cruise ship.
7. Italy. After reading Eat, Pray, Love, watching movies like Nine and Roman Holiday and Letter's to Juliet, and watching Debi and Gabrielli on Extra Virgin on Cooking Channel, I have a desire to see this country full of good food and beautiful cities. Especially Venice. It may be a city that's slowly sinking, but it's a romantic city full of history.
8. Greece. I blame Nia Valdrados. Especially her movie My Life in Ruins. While not a Oscar caliber movie, it's a fun movie that makes me feel like I'm on vacation with a bunch of lovable goofballs and learning about a new culture. And Nia said on the DVD commentary (yes I'm the nerd who listens to DVD commentaries) Greek men love curvy women. Oppa!
9. New Orleans. I've actually been to this city. More than once. And I'd love to return. The first time I went was before Katrina on a mission trip to help in the projects. The second time I returned to help clean up after Katrina. It's such a fun city with street performers, good food and great music. And I remember everything because I was completely sober.
10. Last but not least, New York City. The fashion, the sights, the mix of cultures, Kelly Ripa. These are all things I think of when I think of New York. And Sex and the City. And yes, the first thing I'll do when I get there is ask for the Manolo Blanik store. And would it be unheard of to order a virgin cosmo?
