Stylish Home Saturdays

So first of all, I'm renaming saturdays blog to something that flows off the tongue better and makes more sense.  Second I'm actually posting a DIY! Whoot! Whoot!  I'm just glad watching HGTV shows on my DVR reminded me to post today.  It's actually an easy peasy DIY.  I got the idea from Mark Montano's book, the Big A#$ Book of Crafts.  And Mark Montana is such a sweetie pie.  If you follow him on his You Tube channel and leave a comment, most of the time he'll actually reply back!

So I had found these three comfy chairs with a nice wood finish, clean modern lines but an ugly golden green brown vinyl covering the upholstery.  They were basically the color of poop.

But at $5 each at Goodwill, I couldn't pass them up.  Orginally I was going to fully reupolster them with a solid gray vinyl I found at Hancock Fabrics for cheap, but when I saw Mike's duck tape chair on his you tube channel, I knew this would be better.  So here's what you'll need.

2 rolls of red duct tape
2 rolls of black duct tape
2 rolls of white duct tape
2 rolls of teal duct tape
2 rolls of checkered duct tape
Or whatever design or colored duct tape you'd like.  The duct tape I chose gave me a mod color pop look.
chairs that need a face lift.  The amount of duct tape I've used can cover 3 maybe 4 chairs.

So all you do is take random pieces of tape and cover the sides first.  Then the back of the chair.  Then the seat and back of the seat.  Then finally, cover the edges in black.  Then you're done! I actually have a few more finishing touches to do to them, but I love how these came out.  Till next time, peace!
