Oh Samantha Brown, where for art thou? Before Travel Channel decided to go butch with it's lineup you were THE travel channel host. You made women dream they could travel to a foreign country solo (not counting your camera crew and producers). The last time we saw you was when you spoofed your own image on Anthony's Bourdain's No Reservations and play on this supposed rivalry you two have. Like me you share a love of Disney for that's where Travel Channel decided to host your tenth anniversary show...before you disappeared from the lineup. I kept waiting for a series of shows where you go to all the Disney parks/cruises and Adventures by Disney. But no! They tried to replace the lack of estrogen you left behind with some random blond beach bunny who could fill out a bikini just a bit better. She didn't last one season. You lasted ten years. Why are TV executives obsessed with that 18-25 male demographic? Let me tell ya something execs. They broke. They got no money to spend on sassy southern belles like myself. Let alone travel. They blow what little money they have on beer and video games and their cars. Girls like me, we save for over a year to escape our everyday and travel on cruises and girlfriend getaways. How about a show that shows a girl's night out in different locales? What do we have to do? Get Melissa McCarthy and friends to make a blockbuster comedy about independent women traveling to another country to get out own escapism? Meanwhile what do we get? Baggage Battles? Hotel Impossible? I'm not interested in another reality show that happens to be related to travel. I want a show where a woman travels the globe. I want Samantha Brown! I had hopes she was going to start a new travel show but alas it looks merely to be a plug for the latest travel channel sweepstakes. But oh look! It's another short lived show with a male host sporting a full beard eating in various locales...surprise surprise. Sigh...at least I have the cute hosts Zach of Ghost Adventures and Kevin of Armed and Ready. But come back Sam! Please come back!
